MEET THE AUTHOR
Susan is the IndieReader-approved author of While I Breathe, a heartfelt account of the brief life of her son, Ryan, who was born with Down syndrome. She applied the experience she gained in pediatric medicine and bioethical practices during her son’s life to educate medical students and hospital committee members on the human aspect of patient and family care.
When not writing, Susan loves exploring her creativity through her interior design work, and sourcing unique silent auction items for the Melanoma Research Foundation’s fundraising galas. Her mornings start with the Peloton and BODI fitness classes which get her motivated to take on each day.
Susan raised her three children in New Jersey, and is now embracing the low country life in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, where she is teaching her two sweet, lovable rescue dogs how to jump through the waves along the beautiful beaches.
She is embarking on her next writing project, exploring society’s impact on the physical and emotional development of babies, adolescents, and adults with Down syndrome.
